Explosion proof lamps cannot do without transparent parts, which are the lowest strength components in the shell. Therefore, the reliability of the installation of transparent parts directly affects the safety performance of explosion-proof lamps.
Below are three commonly used installation methods for transparent components: a) directly sealed inside the casing, forming a whole with the casing. This method is simple, practical, and widely used. The sealing material should be selected from temperature resistant and oil resistant rubber parts, or epoxy resin or other adhesives should be used to seal the transparent parts inside the shell and press them tightly.
b) Tighten the transparent component directly inside the casing with or without padding. When no padding is used, the flatness requirement for the joint surface of transparent parts is very high. It is generally suitable for small flat glass and the joint part of the glass should be ground flat at the same time, otherwise the glass will be subjected to uneven force and easily shattered.
c) Sealed or glued onto a frame, the frame is secured within the casing, allowing for the replacement of transparent components as a whole. This structure is rarely used in lighting fixtures, and in some large equipment that requires frequent replacement of transparent parts, the transparent parts and frame are replaced as a whole component.
The sealing between transparent parts and frames can refer to the type in a). Structurally, efforts should be made to directly transfer the force (generated by internal explosions) received by the transparent component to the metal shell. It is not appropriate to transfer the force to the metal shell through the pressure plate and/or screws of the transparent component. At the same time, the transparent component should not be subjected to stress after installation in order to ensure reliable bonding between the transparent component and the shell.
